Theme and Navigation Issue

I have recently installed a new theme. The theme is visible from my live site, however, when I try to ‘edit’ my home page, it still displays my old theme and layout.
Also, my navigation menu is also in disfunction since the new theme installation.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

The site looks like this on my end: https://d.pr/v/zG2sDi and this is the Editor: https://d.pr/v/TMyVxS. It is according to your new theme Livro: https://wordpress.com/theme/livro/theoleabranchcom.wordpress.com and the navigation works.

Can you please try to clear your browser’s cache memory?
Check here how to do it: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

If the issue persists can you please share a screenshot to help me understand better?

    Darusja,

Thanks for the recommendation. Unfortunately clearing my cache has not solved the issue.

    Here’s what I see:

  • Hi! The site here on WordPress.com that you’ve activated the Livro theme on is http://theoleabranchcom.wordpress.com/ – this matches the examples provided by darusja; while in your video it looks like you are managing a separate website which isn’t hosted on WordPress.com; this separate website has the address theoleabranch.com instead.

It sounds like you’d need to install and activate Livro on theoleabranch.com so you can use it for that site, which you can do by downloading it using the download button at the bottom of the Livro information page:

@staff-95percentghost, that is extremely hepful. Thank you.

My site that I am working on, that is under theoleabranch.com, is the domain name that I bought as told to by one of my hosting company’s reps. Should I not have done that? is the domain name included in the purchase of a wordpress subscription?

I have been advised so many opposite things by different people. The recordings of the site theoleabranchcom.wordpress.com is something i dont know how to access, nor have I built anything on that domain name.

    please help!

    Hi there!

So your site at theoleabranch.com is actually hosted by a different hosting company (Bluehost), and the WordPress site you have is called a self-hosted WordPress.org site. That’s different from the sites we host at WordPress.com.

If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.

Basically, you can either host a WordPress.com site with us or use WordPress.org and host with other providers. You can register and use a domain with us at WordPress.com as well. With our annual WordPress.com plans, we provide the first year’s domain registration free of cost. From the second year onwards, you renew the domain and the WordPress.com plan separately.

Support for WordPress.org sites is provided by forum volunteers over at the WordPress.org support forum. With a WordPress.com site, though, you get access to us — the Happiness Engineers at WordPress.com — for help with your site. Depending on the WordPress.com plan you choose, you can also chat with us live.

If you want, you can transfer the entire site from Bluehost to WordPress.com by following the steps below:
