Theme and tips for a perfect list-view
-
Hi Everyone.
I’m making a website is supposed to bring students looking for a competition together with the organisations promoting competitions.
I’m having trouble finding an easy but effective way to make a list-view of the competitions, where a student can easily search and find a range of competitions. And the person might be able to filter his search, so he only looks at competitions in a specific location or competitions being held in January.
Do you have a theme and some tips for making such a list-view? I’m still rather new to it.

Hi there, see the What It Searches section of the Search Widget page for more information on the search function on sites here.
I’ll toss our a few suggestions you can investigate to help your users get to the information they need.
First suggestion is to use posts and then categorize them with relevant categories and include the categories widget in the sidebar. You could categories by competition type and also by month.
Second suggestion would be to use the Display Posts Shortcode. With that you can make pages and use the shortcode and include arguments in the code to limit the display to a category, or to categories and also include full content, or just an excerpt, or even just the titles.Let me know your thoughts.
Since this isn’t a CSS question, I’m moving this to the main support forum, but I will get notification when you post in this thread.
