Theme and Widget problems
-
Please assist me in solving this problem with my blog -> http://pointsinthepaint.wordpress.com/
My theme doesn’t seem to be working + my sidebar has seemed to have disappeared along with my widgets. Please help. thanks. -
Yeah. That looks bad (FF2/Fedora 7). Did you buy the CSS upgrade and tweak that?
All of the individual posts look OK, but the main page itself is horrible. Usually your sidebar will fall down when you have an image that is too wide. But you can often tell which post is messing things up by looking at each individual post.
I’d try changing themes and then changing back to contempt. If that doesn’t work, you might need staff to intervene. This is all assuming you didn’t modify the CSS. If you did do that, then you’re on your own (although there are a few CSS gurus who drop by occasionally).

It’s a mess in IE7 too. I’d check the coding around the photo of the basketball player in the most recent post. It’s way to the right and might be breaking the theme. If the coding is Greek to you (often it is to me) try moving the photo to the left.
Unless, of course, as katm says, you’ve tinkered with the css.

I did not muck around with the CSS. I was able to solve the issue by moving the player’s photo to the left. Thank you for your assistance guys.
Consider my problem resolved. :) -
Actually, after some further study of the problem, I discovered that the error on the page was caused when used the “split post with more” tag. Can anyone help me resolve this issue? Thanks.
-
I’m not sure if this is the exact problem, but problems can crop up if you have a tag set that spans the more tag. For example
<tag>blah blah blah <--more--> blag blag blag</tag>Because that em tag is split by the more tag funny things will happen. Tag may be any of the text formatting tags (em, strong, ect).
That gives you a place to start looking.
