Theme can't be used on my domain

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,
    This is the situation.
I’ve bought a domain and a webhost at a external company. On this host I installed WordPress.

Now I wanted the ‘Arcane’ theme for my website so I bought it on the theme’s page (https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/arcane/)

Now when I get to my dashboard I saw that there was a new domain ending on wordpress.com, which I don’t wanna use, because I already bought a domainname and installed wordpress on it.

How can I download the theme, so I can upload it to my own website?

    Thanks,
    Koen

  • Hello Koen –

There are 2 versions of WordPress, which is sometimes confusing. What happens here at WordPress.com is a bit different from the self hosted version of WordPress.org.

This is how you use self hosted WordPress.

Now I wanted the ‘Arcane’ theme for my website so I bought it on the theme’s page (https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/arcane/)

This was purchased, here on WordPress.com. When you cancelled this upgrade a refund was automatically initiated. It can take up to 7 business days to post back into your account.

Which version of WordPress did you want to continue with?
