    Hi,

    When you switch to another theme, some elements of the original theme might be retained, such as featured images. Also, your site may not resemble the demo of the theme much, until you follow the instructions typically available in the corresponding theme guide for setting up specific features of the theme.

    The theme guide for each WordPress.com theme may be found at https://wordpress.com/theme/theme-name.

    Your site is set on private, so I’m unable to tell which theme is presently activated on the site, or to check Google caches for previous themes applied on the site.

    If, on the other hand, the theme really doesn’t change when you attempt to activate a different one, then there might be a browser or internet connectivity issue preventing the switch.

    To test whether the browser might be at fault, I’d suggest attempting to a theme switch on an alternate browser. See also the Browser Issues support page for other suggestions.

    I’ve tried changing my theme and now have my content against a blank white background. I’ve also tried demo-ing other themes and the “Try to Customize It” feature – and even that shows my content against a blank background.

    This is occurring in Chrome, but it’s the same in IE 11 and Firefox. I can’t possibly proceed with my re-design until this is rectified. :-(

    @andydoerksen,

    If you’re referring to a WordPress.com site, then please start a new topic here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1, because the issues you’ve described are different from that of the OP.

    If you’re not referring to a WordPress.com site, then I suspect you’re in the wrong forum. This support forum is primarily for issues regarding WordPress.com accounts and websites, and not for issues regarding self-hosted sites. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are different versions of WordPress, with different support forums. See the WordPress.com and WordPress.org support page.

    WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
