Theme change has no effect on emailed posts?

This seems true but I can’t find it stated anywhere. The email generator and formatter, for mailing posts to subscribers, is theme-independent. Changing a blog theme has no effect on what email subscribers see. Correct?
(My wordpress.com blog is http://scvgs.org and almost all my followers use email, so I’m wondering how much effort I should put into making the blog look spiffy. Thanks for your help.)

Yes, that is correct. The subscription emails are entirely self-contained. They cannot be changed, and they are not affected by your theme.
