Theme change removed site customization
-
My site theme is Astra. I was troubleshooting a customizer issue and changed the theme to see if that was causing the issue I was observing. After changing the theme back to Astra, I noticed that my site’s entire layout and customization had been removed(colors, spacing, design, etc.). While my content is still there, it will still likely take me hours to edit the pages to how they were, essentially setting my site back to square one. Is there a way to recover my site’s layout and customization? Or am I going to have to manually edit it all again?

Thanks for letting us know!
In the future, this would not be something we can help you with because your site is not hosted on our WordPress.com managed hosting service.
To explain further, our service uses a customized server environment that is specifically optimized for WordPress. We provide built-in security, performance improvements, and in-house support for all site-related inquiries. Our customized version of WordPress is different from the one you are using with your current hosting provider, and we do not have access to your site to diagnose the problem.
However, you have the option to transfer your site to our hosting service and receive in-house support using our migration plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/. Please note that your site would need to be on the Business plan.
If you prefer to keep your site with your current provider, the open-source WordPress forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting can provide you with the necessary assistance. Their community is more familiar with such issues and can offer the best help.
Thank you for understanding!
