Theme chosen doesn't show when clicking 'customise'
-
Hi, I worked on my website about a month ago and used the theme ‘Illdy’. The theme has now disappeared from my templates and, if I click on both my admin link and the URL of the webpage itself, this is the error message i get: Warning: require_once(/home1/epilaser/public_html/wp-content/plugins/illdy-companion/widgets/class-widget-parallax.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/epilaser/public_html/wp-content/plugins/illdy-companion/illdy-companion.php on line 70
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home1/epilaser/public_html/wp-content/plugins/illdy-companion/widgets/class-widget-parallax.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php55/lib/php’) in /home1/epilaser/public_html/wp-content/plugins/illdy-companion/illdy-companion.php on line 70
I have googled ‘WordPress login’ and logged in with my details but I have 2 problems:
1. I can’t find the theme Illdy I was working with – the webpage appears as a blog page instead of the website I was working on
2. I have now chosen a different theme (‘Canape’) but, when clicking on ‘customise’, it keeps showing me the same blog-looking theme, so I can’t actually see the Canape theme, therefore I cannot work on it.Anyone experienced the same? Any help??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy –
I’d like to confirm the site address that you need help with first.
There are 2 different versions of WordPress. What we do here at WordPress.com is quite different from using the WordPress installation with a hosting company (known as self hosted WordPress)
See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
On WordPress.com you choose your theme from our showcase at wordpress.com/themes/
With self hosted WordPress you would be able to use a theme, such as Illdy.

Same here. Canape theme is loaded but doesn’t work. It keeps showind the standard blog scheme. Thisi is my URL https://elbrelocito.wordpress.com/

Hi elbrelocito –
This site only has one page created on it so far, and no posts. You’ll need to build and customize your site using the theme as a template. These are the instructions to build your site to match the Canape Demo.
Let me know which part of the setup instructions you’re having trouble with and I’ll be happy to lend a hand.

Hello and thank you for you reply.
I have no problem finding and activating the Canape theme. But after I activate it and go to the customization panel i get this very basic layout, which has none of the Canape Theme’s features and menus. I tried many other free themes and I get the same issue.
Can this be fixed? I also tried creating a new site from the same account and still have the same problem. I would create a new account but even if I delete this site I won’t be able to use this link again and I need the same link.
What can I do to fix this?
Thank you!

When you preview the themes they are displaying a fully built out site. Right now, you only have 1 pages added to your site – so it is not going to look the same as the demo. Each theme needs to be customized and there are display features that you’ll need to choose.
Which feature of Canape are you having trouble with specifically from these instructions: wordpress.com/themes/canape

Besides the logo, title and the tagline I can’t modify anything. For example it has three featured photos on the frontpage. I uploaded them and set them, clicked save and publich, then clicke Ctrl + F5 and it still looks the same. I can’t set the Full width image (that option doesn’t even exist in my customizer), I can’t set the front page content and so on.
