Theme content and video

Hello all,
I m new to wordpress and not savvy in the area of web design, so I appreciate your patience.I am trying to get rid of the words ‘Welcome to WordPress.com. Use this template to give your readers a bit of important information.’ and the call to action button in my header. Also there is a video that I would like to get rid of that was already in the theme that I do not know how to get rid of. I have spent the last hour trying to do all of this to no avail. Any help is appreciated.
