Theme Customisation not Saving

    Hi Guys,

    Please excuse me if this is a silly question. It’s my second time trying to create a blog (it’s for coursework), but for some reason I’m having trouble with my header and colour changes etc showing up in my blog. For everyone else in my class it seems to be going smoothly, not sure why I’m having such a bother. Tried several different themes etc too.

    When I customize something, it saves and then I go to preview it in my google chrome browser (which I have tried to clear all the data from), and it doesn’t show up any changes.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi wntdia,

    I’m having trouble with my header and colour changes etc showing up in my blog.

    It sounds like you are trying to change the following:

    • Colours in My Sites > Customise > Colours and Backgrounds
    • Header image in My Sites > Customise > Header Image

    Is that correct? If so, it would be great if you could make a screenshot of the customisations you want to save and upload it to your Media Library — I can then compared that with what I’m seeing on my end.

    Out of curiosity, are you able to save the changes using another browser? For example, Firefox.

    Hi Gemma,

    I have uploaded two images, one of what I see in my customizer (the black banner with extra menu’s) and the one of what I see in my blog preview (the simple looking green banner one).

    I’ve tried safari and firefox, same issue on them. It seems to be saving ok just doesn’t show up on my actual blog/blog preview!

    Hi wntdia,

    Thanks for the screenshots, they were a big help.

    I’ve discovered why your changes weren’t showing on the site. When you made changes through the Customiser, they were saved as a draft rather than published. I’ve attached a screenshot of this option:

    As long as the changes are published, they should appear :)
