Theme > Customize – A Jumbled Mess
-
When I try to customize my theme, all I get is a jumbled mess of a screen, completely unusable. Tried many themes, and two browsers.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Hello there, Try logging out and clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, which will also log you out of every other site you are currently logged in on, and then shutting down and reopening your browser. Then make sure that you have 3rd party cookies and javascript enabled in your browser settings before you log back in to WordPressdotcom.
If that doesn’t work, try the Customizer in a Private browsing window. If it works there, you might need to disable your browser extensions one by one to see if something new is interfering.
Let us know how that goes.

What browser(s) and version(s) are you using?
What is your computing set up (PC, Mac, desktop, tablet, etc.)?Thanks for your patience while waiting for Staff to reply.

Primarily use Google Chrome.
Also Tried Microsoft EdgeDownloading Internet explorer 11 now to try.
Running Windows 10 PC

It’s probably not necessary to download IE 11 if you had these results in Chrome (what version) and Edge (what version) since both of those are standards compliant.

Google Chrome is up to date
Version 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)Microsoft Edge 41.16299.15.0

@standtallforchrist do you have any new security features on your computer that could be blocking CSS or scripts?

One thing you can do is right-click and view “inspect element” … Find the JS error console. Then load up the customizer. Do you see errors there, and if so can you get a screenshot of them?
