Theme Dara: adding widget to sidebar but not showing

  Hello, I am using the theme Dara and I am trying to add a widget (Upcoming event from my Google calendar) to the sidebar. It is not working, I put all the information to add the Google Calendar and then it does not appear on the page. However when I had the same widget (upcoming event from my Google calendar) to Footer 1, 2 or 3 it is working and I can see all the events. Why can I not see the upcoming events when I had it to Sidebar?

  hi,

  pavanraheja’s reply at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/dara-theme-not-showing-widgets-on-front-page/ is helpful.

  If your homepage displays your latest posts, you will see the Upcoming Events.
  If it is a static page, it will not show the sidebar and whatever widgets you put within.

  Note to Staff,

  My earlier reply which included a link to cloudapp for a screenshot seems to have triggered a ‘site insecure’ warning.
