Theme editor missing

I am trying to make changes to the search results page on my website and the editor is missing from under the Appearance menu in my dashboard.
I tried troubleshooting by deactivating all plugins and I also went to the wp-config file to see if the editor had been disabled but I couldn’t see any problems.
Just wondering if there is anything else I can try?
