Theme Forest Theme
-
Hello,
I currently use weebly to host my blog: http://www.thegirlandthebag.com. Weebly is very limited and I am interested in switching my blog over to wordpress. I wanted to purchase this theme: http://themeforest.net/item/fashion-blog-theme-applique/13915999?s_rank=1.
Would I be able to use wordpres.com with this theme? Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you!
Taylor

Would I be able to use wordpres.com with this theme?
No.
You can’t install any theme that is not found at https://wordpress.com/themes/ into any site hosted by wordpress.COM.
If you are reading anything that makes you think that bloggers can install any third party or custom themes on sites hosted by wordpress.COM, then you are mistaken/misinformed. You are confusing wordpress.COM hosted blogs and wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.
This is the wordpress.COM support forum. There is no FTP access https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/ to sites hosted here and you cannot upload any custom themes or third party themes, or create your own theme here at wordpress.COM, or use stylesheets from another theme. You can do those only on wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
Read: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/
There is no upgrade you can buy here that changes that.If your site remains hosted here at wordpress.COM and you purchased a third-party theme, then you will have to get a refund.
Alternatively, this guide will explain how to move your WordPress.com site to another hosting platform:

Hello,
Great, thank you so much for the clarification. I guess I have a decision to make.
Best,

We have around 400 themes and great Staff support here at wordpress.COM. When you are a wordpress.ORG blogger you are on your own, and you have better read the flipping manual, because there is no Staff support, and posting to those support forums may not be productive if you don’t read the COCEX which is so dense and complex that it makes me want to scream, and I have blogged for 10 years.
At wordpress.COM we provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.me/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
