Theme Functions

  • Unknown's avatar

If I am on my dashboard as editor, I need to navigate to the theme editor (Appearance –> Editor), then find a file named Theme Functions (functions.php).

When I try to do this, under Appearance, I only find CSS Editor, which seems to be a dead end.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi. Here at WordPress.COM, there’s no such path (it’s Appearance > Themes), and no access to PHP files. So it looks like you have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog and are in the wrong forum. Please ask your question on http://wordpress.org/support

You are currently in a WordPress.COM forum and our answers will not apply to your situation. Thanks and I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.

If you do have a WordPress.COM blog, please provide us with the URL, starting with http://

    I’m a little bit confused.

    I began at http://www.wordpress.org/

I clicked on download WordPress 3.1

Because I was already a member of two other blogs: In (Pro)motion and In Motion, WordPress recognized me as susan888 and I was able to create the blog http://(email visible only to moderators and staff).

I assumed I was administrator of that blog and tried to navigate to (Appearance –> Editor) and find the file named Theme Functions (functions.php). I was unsuccessful.

    How should I have created a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog?

Thanks for considering this next question.

First of all, that should be http://susanspeers.wordpress.com since there’s no @ in WordPress.COM addresses.

As I said, here at WordPress.COM you cannot upload new themes or edit the PHP files. If you used to be able to upload new themes, that means you were using WordPress.ORG before.
