THEME HELP!!

  I have chosen the Sela theme, but I can’t figure out how to get it to work properly. I cannot find any of the theme related options, such as Grid View Templates, or any theme related options for new pages, nor can I get my website’s Main page to show properly with the large picture and title in the middle. Each new page I add comes up with a plain banner across the top. And I can’t find the options to change it. HELP!!

  What is key to working with any theme is using the detailed theme description page information and instructions on theme set up https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sela/ Be sure that you click through the links provided to the relevant support docs as well.

  Grid Template
  The Grid Page template is designed to show child pages in a grid format. To get started, first create or edit a page, and assign it to the Grid Page template from the Page Attributes box. The content of this page and featured image – if one is set – will be displayed above the grid.

  Thanks for your posting. I understand how the grid page works now.
  I didn’t know to set up the child pages first.

  As for the Front Page question. I followed your link and looked at the theme again. I tried to revert to a standard theme and then reload Sela, but didn’t get any prompts to make sure it’s features are installed properly. Is there anyway to do this with the theme installed? I also noticed in the theme demo that it mentions “Featured Images” for each page. How do I find those graphics?

  Absolutely. You can make all the changes you want without changing your theme.

  Let’s focus on your front page first.

  right now your posts are going to your front page. If you want your site to look like the demo, you’ll need a static front page. The instructions for setting that up are in the first section of this page–Front page template:
