Theme/How to Start a New Project or Start Over

  Hello, Upon setting up wordpress yesterday I inadvertently selected a theme design that I do not want. Now every time I attempt to update the theme or change it to another one, it still is changing it only within the theme I already selected instead of allowing me to start fresh. How can I reset everything and start over?
