Theme Intergalactic 2: Change colours
-
Dear all,
My second question today concerns the theme “Intergalactic 2”.
I would like to change the colour of the header and the links within the text. However, I can only find a set of colour templates in the customise menu which seem to have the only effect of switching the header between black and white. Concerning the links, I can find no option at all.
Does anyone know, if there is one and if yes, how can I find it?
Many thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
However, I can only find a set of colour templates in the customise menu which seem to have the only effect of switching the header between black and white.
By “header,” do you mean the site title? In a test site with the Intergalactic 2 theme applied, I find that there are three different shades offered for the site title text color: black (or dark gray), light gray, and whitish.
Concerning the links, I can find no option at all.
What type of links are you referring to? In tests, I find that that each of the six palette options at Customize > Colors & Backgrounds > Choose a Palette has a different color for links in page or post content, and that widget titles have five of the six color options when I switch between palettes, though links within a widget don’t change color. Also, I find that Date, author, category, and tag links on posts don’t change color when I switch to a different palette.

Hi danieldorji,
I would like to change the colour of the header and the links within the text
You can change the link color from Customize > Colors & Backgrounds. (Edit: This also requires an upgrade to WordPress.com Business or Premium.) Click the first circle, which controls the link color. Below the circle, you’ll see options to change the color. Click the blue save button at the top to apply the changes.
We have more information here in our Custom Colors guide.
Aside from the color palettes in the Customizer, you would need to upgrade the site to WordPress.com Premium or Business to make the header changes using Custom CSS.
If you decide to upgrade, feel free to contact support directly through live chat, or make a post in the CSS Customization forum for assistance with the necessary code.

@dcoloeonline,
Click the first circle, which controls the link color.
I find no circles at Customize > Colors & Backgrounds, with the Intergalactic 2 theme applied. Nor do I find any options that specifically address only link color at Colors & Backgrounds. The palette options affect some types of links and not others, as I’ve described above.

@musicdoc1: Good catch. For some reason, the demo had an upgrade applied to it. I overlooked that when I was checking it. I’m not sure if that is intentional so I’ll verify with the developers, as usually demos have no upgrades.
@danieldorji: The Custom Colors feature is included in both WordPress.com Premium and Business. Any changes to the overall link color or header color would require upgrading the site to one of those plans.
If you want to specify the color of a font within each page/post, you can do that via the visual editor:

@musicdoc1: The demo has custom css applied to it to keep the menu from being hidden by the theme activation bar. Thanks again for catching that. :)
