Theme is not updating file after editing

    Im trying to edit very simple things like change the header image or even the background color of wordpress default, but when I update the file nothing changes. Ive been reading WordPress for Dummies and other sources to make sure Im doing it correctly. Im pretty sure I’m grasping the concept of tweaking or editing, but still nothing changes to the appearance of the blog. What am I doing wrong? Also, the date on the blog (no matter what theme) is always set to Feb 15th, even after I update the calender settings. How do I change that?

    Please post the URL for the blog in question starting with http:// and knowing that this support forum is only for those who have free hosted wordpress.com blogs.

    If your is a wordpress.COM free hosted blog then we do not have FTP access and cannot upload themes into our blogs. Please read the sticky post at the head of this forum to understand the differences between free hosted wordpress.COM blogs and wordpress.ORG installs.
