Theme issues

  First created my BLog on my PC at work and chose the POLAROIDS theme. Initial set-up was easy and able to port my .com address over from Go Daddy. Went to create and post from my home MAC and was unable to change anything. Was unable to delete and add widgets, was not able to see a new post after posting.
  Then I tried to change the theme and was unable to activate any new themes. Wasnt even able to see or preview a new theme, would just give me the initial polaroid theme and my first post.

  Veryu frustrated as I also thought maybe the theme wasnt MAC/PS compatible but now back on my PC and still unable to make any changes.

  Hi there, I’m glad to help you sort this out.

  I see two different sites associated with your account:

  1) https://lunabirdshoppe.wordpress.com/ – this is your WordPress.com site, with the WuWei theme. You can manage this site by logging into your dashboard here: https://lunabirdshoppe.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

  2) You also seem to have a self-hosted WordPress site, which is not hosted by us: http://lunabirdshoppe.com/ This is the site that’s using the Polaroids theme.

  Let’s start first by confirming which site you want to keep using – your WordPress.com site or your self-hosted site? Once I know that we can troubleshoot further.

  I see you also asked for your site to be emptied over here:

  https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-want-to-clear-all-the-content-from-my-blog-and-start-from-scratch

  I’d be glad to empty your WordPress.com site if that’s the site you need help with: https://lunabirdshoppe.wordpress.com. This will remove all posts, pages, images and other uploaded content, and it can’t be undone. Just confirm if you’d like me to do that. Thanks.

  First off THANK YOU! Banging my head against the wall.

  No idea how I have both. I would like to keep my wordpress.com site as I do not need to use wordpress.org (unless that is the only way i can port my domain name over from GO Daddy?)

  If i can go back to having one site (whichever is easiest to create blogs on). I imagine that is why i wasnt able to make the changes since both were being associated with my domain name lunabirdshoppe.com.

  If you’d like to keep your WordPress.com site and give up your self-hosted site, you can definitely do that – perhaps GoDaddy will refund the hosting portion of your package if you ask them.

  Your domain lunabirdshoppe.com is currently pointing to GoDaddy. In order to map it to your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to log into your domain registration control panel and update the name servers to:

  ns1.wordpress.com
  ns2.wordpress.com
  ns3.wordpress.com

  Please be sure to first read our guide to mapping an existing domain – especially the heads-up about any email accounts you may have on the domain.

  Once that’s done, give it at least a few hours for the domain name updates to completely propagate.

  Let me know if you need anything else. It looks like you only have two posts and one page on your WordPress.com site, which would be easy to delete manually. You can find full instructions here.
