Theme Layout Issues (Sidebar)
-
I’m having layout issues with my theme. The sidebar keeps getting pushed down to the bottom of the page. I followed the fix instructions to set plog posts to 1 and see if affected posts had any
<div>
posts in them, but they didn’t. There weren’t any instructions beyond that… Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I suspect that that you may have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor. Please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
The reason your sidebar has fallen and is displaying below your posts is either due to copying and pasting or it can also be a result of importing text containing invalid HTML. Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.
Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”
Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.
If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up” then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes back to normal.
Best wishes with your blog. :)

BTW I have viewed the blog linked to your username using both Firefox 3.6.15 and IE8. What I see is a normal display — no fallen sidebar. That points to a possible browser issue.
- As you could have a browser issue so try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
- Note that when you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.
- You could try upgrading your browser.
- You could try using another browser.
Which browser and version of it are you using?

I have 484 posts. Going through post by post to see if something is “messed up” is not exactly an option.

Hi there,
Have you logged out and cleared your browser cache and cookies and then logged in again? Please try that as it frequently cures the problem. -
I did, that didn’t…. but a zoom in/out reset for the viewing screen just did the trick. So, add that to your arsenal of checklists for browser issues. Thanks!! L. :)

Did you Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.” or not?
Normally when we do that and then open only one or two posts in the editor the way I described above the blog rectifies.
As I said above your blog has a normal appearance when I view it ie. no fallen sidebar.

Yes, ZOOM is on my troubleshooting list. So glad this is resolved now. Have a great rest of the weekend. :)
