Theme McKinley widget placement

  Hey, I am trying to figure out how to change my widget placement. I have a feeling it has something to do with the restrictions of my Theme (McKinley), but really hope someone can help me with getting my widgets placed on the side / higher up (as all the blog studies advise). The only option I have is Footer widget…

  You are correct, your theme supports only one widget area in the footer.

  It is indeed a good idea to include widgets in the sidebar where they are easily noticeable to your visitors. But unfortunately you have to let go of McKinley and pick one of the themes that support left or right sidebars.
