Theme Missing from my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
My blog is not displaying my selected theme. Even if I try to change it, it still remains “blank”. (ie: Missing Background, missing colors, missing columns) It almost seems it is in Mobile mode. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
    My blog address is http://4h03n1x.wordpress.com
    Thank you in advance.

Now, the “theme” for the Dashboard is gone. This was fine when I posted the above message.

Same thing happened to me a week or two ago. Rebooting didn’t help. Nor did starting a thread in this forum. After an hour or two, the problem went away. I never did find out what happened.

I have been battling this problem for DAYS and am going crazy over it. It’s just the pages on my blog, my dashboard cooperates.

sorry, I don’t know how to turn that into a link…

Anyone know how to fix this really annoying problem… anyone????

I’ve tried IE8 and Firefox – still the same. When others view it they seem to see it all normal.
    Thank you!

@wickedbusymomto3, I see your blog just fine. Have you tried logging out, clearing your browser cache and cookies, restarting your browser and then trying again?

@4h03n1x, since your blog is private, I cannot look at it, but try the above suggestion.

TSP, thank you. Yes, I’ve tried that many times. Tried it through firefox, IE, and safari, still lays out weird. How do you know where else to look, it obviously is within my computer but what could possibly cause a sudden error on just the pages????
These are the things that keep me awake at night…………………

My only other suggestions are if you have a DSL or cable modem, restart them and then also do a DNS cache flush on your computers as outlined here: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/233/clear_windows_dns_cache/ .

Thank you all. I’ve changed the Privacy setting on my Blog, so it should be visible to everyone. I will try the DNS cache flush. I had tried IE 7 and Firefox 3.0.9, and got the same results. I tried clearing my browser cache/cookies/history, and that didnt work.
I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks for the quick responses, I didnt expect to get a response so quickly :)

@thesacredpath: This solved my problem! Much appreciated. Weird that a bad DNS cache would cause a problem like that.
Thank you to everyone that responded.

@4h03n1x, yes it is weird, but I’ve seen a corrupted DNS cache cause all sorts of problems. I’m glad your problem is solved, and you are welcome.

Keep in mind that I am no computer tech but when I try to do the dns cache flush or even check what’s on the dns cache, the screen rolls by in such a flash that I can’t even see what it says.

Is that sounding right? I think I flushed it but I don’t know….

sorry for my complete bafoonery – I just have no clue on the tech side of things.

    thanks!
