-
Hello Everyone!! I am really new to the WordPress.com site, I am really keen to learn this tool. Already I have started it. You can visit my site anytime. I want to modify site everyday, Once I finish learning I am planning to buy my domain and hosting and also some other features of this tools. It’s great. To stand a web site so fast is kind of amaZing.
Here I am with i little help that I want, as I am new I want to know if there is any way I can change the footer part of my theme where it is written Theme: Twenty Eleven | Blog at WordPress.com I wanted to remove this portion from my site. Is it possible? and is there a way I can access the files of my site so that I can modify a little bit of the inner PHP files?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t edit the PHP files – security reasons. You also don’t have FTP access.
Removing the footer as you want is not allowed and your blog can be suspended if you do.

@tarekshowkot, if you are planning on self-hosting a wordpress installation on a third-party hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, etc., then you should know that there are key differences in features and capabilities between the wordpress software used here at wordpress.COM, and that you will be using on a self-hosted site. Here there are a lot more restrictions since this is a multi-user platform and we all share the wordpress core files and theme files. That means we cannot edit those files as @auxclass says.
What you might want to do is to use WAMP (Windows) or MAMP (Mac) and install the wordpress software on your own computer. That way you can play with it to your heart’s content, and you will be playing with the version of the software that you will be using when you decide to get your own site.
Just Google for WAMP or MAMP as appropriate. Both are free downloads. The Mac version installs without a hitch, but the Windows version can be a little cranky.

I use xampp on my Windows PC – as I remember a year ago the install went OK once I sort of figured out what to do.

wow!! that was a very quick reply . . . I am really glad that there are so many people taking care of… anyway can I change the footer in the paid theme?
-
If you mean a premium theme here at wordpress.COM, no you cannot.
If you mean on a self-hosted wordpress installation at a third-party hosting site, then generally yes, but it depends on the licensing of the particular theme you are talking about. Most are GPL, so that means you can, but some themes have tighter licensing (which might not be legal) that require you to leave the footer links in place.

Is there any way I can protect my images from being copied in wordpress? the images I have put in the slideshows….

Sorry, I’m monitoring one of my client’s sites that is getting hit with a brute force hacking attack.
We cannot currently change the size of the slideshow. From what I can see, it sort of sets the image sizes so that they all fit within set up for the slideshow and that is sort of tied to the available width of the theme you are using.

As far as image protection, my suggestion is to watermark your images. That is really the best way as any sort of protection scheme can be gotten around fairly easily.

Also don’t put real high quality pictures on your site – i.e. limit the resolution – I have a friend that is a pro-photographer – he just figures his pictures are going to be grabbed so he limits the resolution so you can print a post card sized print and that is about it – seems to me the width is about 420 pixels on his site.
