Theme Not Displaying Fully
-
I have been using the Sapphire Theme, with a deep blue background and the text area background in the middle is white. Recently I noticed that about halfway down the page, the white background in the middle ends and the rest of the page is all deep blue, making it hard to read the black text. Can you please help me?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your username is a blogspot blog and we can’t help with that. If you are talking about a wordpress.COM blog, we need a link to it.

Sorry – I didn’t realize! Here’s my wordpress blog link:

With the Sapphire theme, this is typically due to an HTML error in a blog post.
Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”
Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “update post.” Check your blog and if it is back to normal, you are golden. If not, open the next post and do the same thing till it goes back to normal.
I’m also seeing quite a number of XHTML syntax errors in some of the stuff in your sidebar. As an example you have two break tags within the HTML for the image link, and you cannot do that. You also do not have a space between the ending ” after Woman, and the /> There needs to be a space there. You have:
<a href="http://bloggingwomen.blogspot.com" target="_blank"> <br /> <br /> <img border="0" width="100" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3023/2686241382_8cb51e9468_o.jpg" alt="Blogging Women"/> </a>and it should be:
<a href="http://bloggingwomen.blogspot.com" target="_blank"><img border="0" width="100" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3023/2686241382_8cb51e9468_o.jpg" alt="Blogging Women" /></a>With all the image HTML in your sidebar, you need to go in and put the space inbetween the ” and the /> .
Also check as I’m also seeing some places where you don’t have the / after the ” at the end of the img src section.

One other thing, if you use an XHTML break tag, make sure it has the proper syntax. This is how it should be with a space between the ” r ” and the ” / “.

Also when you are going through things, anywhere you have
<br />it needs to be changed to<br />(unless it is nested in an image link code where it doesn’t belong). The break tag without the space and the / is HTML and wordpress.COM blogs are XHTML which requires the self-closing tag like this:

Thanks so much for all the advice, TheSacredPath! I will try my best to follow your instructions and hopefully I can get it fixed.
