Theme Not Showing Completely

Add topic to favorites
I am having troubles getting my theme to show completely. Why is the top of the theme that I have chosen only showing?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please explain a bit more about the trouble you are having with the bouquet theme. Here are the setup instructions to help you along:

I hit Site Title then it goes to My First Blog. That all well and good but theme I chose is Bouquet and only the top is showing which is flowers. The rest of the theme isn’t showing which is a picture of a fawn laying down. If this keeps up, I may have to change themes. How can I get the full theme to show?

Surely “A fawn on a riverbank” is just an example post, not part of the theme itself.

If you have a e-mail I can send you a screenshot of the theme. It actually showed 2 themes but I chose the deer on the riverbank with the pink flowers on top not the blue flowers.

What you are describing is an example post to show you how the theme looks once you begin adding posts and content to it.

Hi @daisymae2017, you would make a new post and add a picture of that deer. You could make it sticky if you want that post to stay at the top. But it is just content on the site. I’d recommend just adding your own pictures instead since you’ve got some nice ones. Let us know if you need more help.

Also: just as a quick tip, please go to My Site > Customize > Site Identity and give your site a title and tagline. Right now it’s set to “Site Title” which isn’t very descriptive.

@daisymae2017 can I recommend these tutorials? We have a number of short videos here that I think will help you a lot with getting your site set up:

There’s one about making posts (which covers how to make them sticky.) We also cover widgets. And as for the site icon, it’s just the favicon for your site. You can set it at https://wordpress.com/settings — just upload a picture there.

I just want to write/blog every-now-and-then. I have a lot of pictures. I was planning to do a picture blog after vacation. Not sure how to do that. Some of my blogs were going to be a combination of writing/pictures. You know like a picture blog with writing intermixed. I won’t be writing just about one subject. I didn’t think the text widget was being used anymore. Looking at my site, what would be the best widget to use?
