Theme Not Showing Completely

@daisymae2017 you’ll want to use widgets to accomplish specific goals. In my opinion, less is more; so if a widget helps you achieve a goal, use it. If it doesn’t, keep it simple.
I can definitely recommend working through one of our courses though to get your site up and become a successful blogger:

@daisymae2017 Excerpts are supposed to be short, and widgets (which typically go in the sidebar or footer) are generally meant for side-items to the main content.
Is there any reason 600 words would not deserve its own page or post?
-
Maybe I wasn’t clear but I have written a story over 600 words and wondered if I should write a widget, sidebar or excerpt for this. What do you think?

Thanks. Will I need to start over with a different post to get the theme to come out completely? When I changed it, I thought and was under the impression the theme would show completely.

@daisymae2017 There is nothing wrong with your theme. The header is a choice of three flowers. It’s already been explained that the image of the fawn was simply put in the demo to give people some idea of what a completed post would look like. If you really must have an image of a fawn on your site why not visit the demo and copy/paste the image into a sticky post at the top of your site. I’m sure @supernovia wouldn’t mind.
-
@daisymae2017 Go ahead and create a new post and upload that picture of a fawn. You can make the post sticky if you’d like for it to stay at the top of the page all the time.
