Theme Option

    Hi,

I am looking for a theme that offers a landing page with two sections. These sections would take you to two different areas with different navigation.

For example. I am a creative design studio and would like my home page to have an image and link to ‘Interior Design’ and another image and link to ‘Graphic Design’. Each of these areas would have their own individual navigation. Does this exist?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @sarah3bb7b4fcbe, it’s not built into any of our existing templates, but it’s certainly doable.

You’ll need to set up two navigations, two header template parts, and then a custom template that contains the alternate navigation and header. Then, just be sure to use that template when you’re working with that half of the site.

This guide on templates may be a good place to start:

A template controls the layout of your pages. Not to be confused with Themes (that set the design of your entire site), the template affects the look and feel of an individual page (or post) or groups of pages (or posts.) This guide explains how to work with page templates. Introduction to Templates The template controls how the page is displayed. You can identify the template a page

You could also watch this webinar on custom headers in the site editor. Again, I don’t think they’ll do this particular use case, but it can give you a feel for the options.

One more (perhaps easier) option, you could just set up two separate sites and have them link to each other in their menus. Or, if you’re interested, you might also check with the Built By WordPress.com team to see if they could set up a site with this feature for you.

    Hoping this helps!
