This is missing from the Appearances menu and is mentioned in the tutorials for editing purchased themes.
I have tried to fix it but cannot find a solution.
Also my attempts at downloading plugins to fix it has caused an ‘http error 500’ which I l am unable to fix. This is a mess that I have wasted days on trying to fix. Not a very happy user of WordPressThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @dwar9922,
If you are trying to upload a third-party theme to your existing WordPress site, please know that third-party theme uploads and customisation is made available only for Business plan holders with WordPress.com.
It’s not possible to download plugins on a free WordPress.com site like yours. The user may need to upgrade in this case as well.
Here are a few links which can help you understand the basics of the available WordPress.com plans, their prices and the features they come with.

Hi there,
As you mention installing plugins, I assume you are not speaking of dwar9922.wordpress.com, but of a site using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We cannot help with this in the WordPress.com forums.
Please post in the self-hosted WordPress forums instead for help:
