Theme preview doesn’t look the same when activated
-
I am trying to use the theme Rowling. I started with a blank theme when signing up. I then activated Rowling… I thought I would see the exact theme layout when I picked this theme from wordpress.com – Appearance – Themes – All Themes. I thought I could just plug my content into the sight. Instead the preview of my activated Rowling has images and blog stuff and doesn’t look like the preview at all — Rowling theme is a magazine layout not a blog. What did I do wrong? How do I activate Rowling so that it looks exactly like the preview?

Hi,
Your website is not launched yet. Can you please launch the site so that, we can suggest you better.
According to the post, what you are trying to say is, your website page is showing one static page rather than shoiwing all the post alike demo page of “Rowling theme”.
Would you please follow below process
Your site->Appearance->Customize->Homepage Settings
Then select “Your latest posts” and click save.Hope this will solve your problem. If you have more query please make sure that site is launched. It will be easy for us to suggest you better.
Thanks.

I launched the site with the Rowling theme.
I did as you asked:
Your site->Appearance->Customize->Homepage Settings
Then select “Your latest posts” and click save.It doesn’t look like the demo. Hmmmm???
If you could reset it to make it look like the Rowling demo… that would be great!
Thanks again!

You’ll need to publish a number of posts before you can begin to get your new site to look like the demo.
