Theme preview isn’t correct

  • Unknown's avatar

I am currently using the Theme Andreas09, but would like to change it possibly to Grid Focus. When I preview the Grid Focus theme, nothing of my site shows – no posts, sidebar info etc – and the ‘tabs’ Frontpage, Browse and Subscribe show twice as does the search box. The first set as they should be at the top left corner, but this second set is more centered and down the page a couple of inches.

Would the Grid Focus theme work ok for me if I were brave enough to click apply?

You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

    Sorry, it’s consumingtheharvest.wordpress.com

Not sure about the ‘reason’ for posting – because I want to know if the Grid Focus theme will show correctly if I apply it to my blog even though it does not show correctly in preview mode.

You can always click APPLY and see what happens. You can go back to your old theme afterwards if you want. Probably what’s happening with the preview is, you’ve got something too wide for the theme and it’s shoved your sidebar contents down the page.

So if I needed to re-apply Andreas09 for some reason the sidebars wouldn’t be messed up by having applied Grid Focus?

No, it should not change anything. DO make copies of all your text widget content, though, as some people have reported changing themes wiped their text widget contents.

Ok, thank you – I’ll give it a try
