Hi there,
For what site is this? Installing a theme you bought somewhere else requires the Business Plan on WordPress.com, and you don’t have any Business Plan sites with us, nor have you bought any of the premium themes we sell on WordPress.com, so it sounds like you’re instead using the open source WordPress.org software at another host. Support for that version of WordPress can be found at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Without knowing what the theme is and exactly which plugins they’re recommending I have no way to answer your question. It would probably depend on why the theme recommends those plugins, and the people who made the theme are really the only ones who can tell you that.
In general, though, it’s not recommended to use plugins you don’t need, and also don’t install multiple plugins that do the same thing. If these are free plugins listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory, also take a look at how long ago the plugin was last updated, how many people are using it, and read through the reviews on the plugin page. As a general rule, stay away from plugins that haven’t been updated in very long, or that haven’t been tested with the last two major versions of WordPress (current version is 5.3), as they’re likely to have security issues and potential conflicts with other plugins and WordPress itself.
