Simplr is a single-column theme for WordPress. It provides a unique format for narrowing focus to the content at hand. Simplr is about reducing clutter.
Simplr v3.0 is fully compatible with WordPress 2.0.x and 2.1.
The Simplr theme features:
- a theme options menu, which allows
- control over fonts and text size
- control over the layout and alignment
- standards compliance with
- option for enabling comments on pages
- a robust stylesheet and separate print stylesheet
- highly semantic markup
- Widgets plugin ready
i’ve got it in use on my wp.org blog : http://theresistancearmy.com/blog/.
i’d like to migrate entirely to wp.com, but this theme is currently a deal breaker.

have you send a feedback about this? because that way the wp team can take note of your request, as not all threads in the forums are monitored.
-
Ahhh come on now :) … wordpress.com has so very much going for it that I can’t imagine any theme being a deal breaker, especially when you can get a css customization upgrade and make a theme to suit you using Sandbox.
However, it would not be advisable for you hold your breath because wordpress.com and wordpress.org run on different software. So if this theme was immediately accepted then you would have to wait for it to be re-coded to run on wordpress.com (wp.MU). :) Also note that when themes are coded to run on wordpress.com they do not necessarily have all the features that they do in the original versions running on wordpress.org.
The process is simple. Send in a feedback to staff with the url to the theme (the feedback button is on top right hand corner of any blog page) and tell them why you want to see the theme introduced. Then you wait for a reply.
-
timethief is right; if you’re waiting for this to be added to join wp.com, you have to wait for a pretty long time.

Hey sulz {waving}
We must have been typing at the same time. I was so preoccupied with editing and re-editing my spelling and grammar and not leaving anything out that I just saw your post above mine. :)P.S. Did you notice the strawberry ice cream? … mmmmm

-
Look at the avatar. See what’s in his hand – a strawberry ice cream cone. I prefer maple walnut or orange ice cream but strawberry is good too. And chocolate will do in a pinch … lol.. ;)

there a couple of scott(plaintxt.org, the theme author)’s themes in queue to be uploaded here. simplr isn’t one of them, but all of his themes do have the same features now.
as TT said, though, don’t let one theme hold you up. custom CSS makes pretty much anything possible. granted, ‘pretty much’ doesn’t include hCards for comments. but as i said, hopefully that will be coming soon.
-
@sunburntkamel
Okay, you’ve got my full attention. Can you tell me in plain English what hCards for comments are, please? -

it’s just a standardized way of coding up the commenter’s name and url.

The theme doesn’t work on the WordPress Multiuser platform.

They would have to strip out a number of the features to get it to work. That’s the reason why we’re still using the older version of some themes like Ocadia.
Best bet would be to submit a feedback making this request. Staff has stated that they keep track of requests like this.
-
actually, scott rewrote the options panel, because the theme toolkit was known to be crappy. any chance you’d want to give the new version a shot, drmike?
(i know absolutely zero about MU)
-
We have a different themekit for the MU platform but 1) it still removes a number of features and 2) I’ve noted that it doesn’t get used on wp.com so there may be an issue with it. (ie the older version of Ocadia)
