Theme selection
-
Hi, I’m just setting up my blog and have selected a theme. But the page I have to work from is a generic page with a pic of the countryside on. Surely once I’ve selected my theme, that should be my page, which I can then customise?? As it is now, I’ve selected a theme, and then I have to design everything myself?? This is so frustrating – there are no guides to help me.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
Your site displays a Coming Soon notice, so I can’t tell what theme you are referring-to. Many themes offer setup instructions that explain how to recreate the look you see on the live demo sites.
To find those instructions, search in the WordPress.com theme directory with the name of your theme. Here is the link to where you start your search:
https://wordpress.com/themesYou will find it easier to use those instructions if you are a little bit familiar with how the WordPress (block) editor works:

You can access live support chat from your WordPress.com account or at this link:

@comedyguy77 I can see you’ve got a start on things. You don’t have to design it. You do need to remove what you don’t want, replace pictures and text etc.
You can also add more posts here:
https://wordpress.com/posts — and you can remove any that aren’t yours, too. Also, if you’d like, we’ve got webinars every week as well as recorded sessions:
https://wordpress.com/webinars/I’d recommend that if you’re feeling stuck, or just let us know what questions you have.
