Theme Selection – Suggestion

I’m not sure where to post this. It has taken me ten minutes to reach this point, so I will post the note and give up.
It would be helpful if WordPress.com could offer an organized theme selection tool. I have just spent 45 minutes seeking a new theme for my blog. So far, that effort has been unsuccessful. I find that I am hindered by the structure of theme offerings.
First, I am grateful that there are free themes. To remain focused here, however, my first suggestion is that it should not be necessary to click FREE again and again, after every glance at a possible theme.
Second, it would be helpful if I did not have to start my search over, amid a chaotic and shifting list of themes, after every such sample view. At present, I must page down, again and again, through the themes that I have already examined, in search of a potentially relevant theme.
Third, ideally, a theme selector tool would allow the user to home in on themes that have desired features. For instance, I want a sidebar. So I would like to be able to click a box that says, ‘Sidebar,’ and thus be steered to themes that offer that feature.
Finally, among themes offered by such a selection tool, it would be helpful if I could exclude from consideration those that I have already viewed.
I understand that these suggestions have probably already been offered, considered at length, and rejected, for reasons that I cannot readily detect within the help options that led me to this point. Which is another way of saying that WordPress has compounded the frustration of using its theme selection tool with the frustration of being unable to do anything constructive about that frustration.

As a workaround for having to click on Free themes everytime you go back, I suggest opening each theme in a new tab and just closing it after you’ve viewed it and decided not to use it.

While there is no button to do that, you can filter the themes looking for a specific feature:
