Theme Suggestion: Blueprint
-
Blueprint is a new theme based on the Blueprint CSS Framework. It is built on a grid-based design, cross-browser compatible, easy to change through CSS and has a clean look.

AHEM … although you have been a wordpress.com member for a year you have yet to post to the blog linked to your username here at all. And now we find that you advertising and promoting your own theme on this forum.
Sheesh … I strongly suggest that you contact staff like other bloggers requesting new themes do. Provide the link to your theme and your reasons for requesting it and then patiently await a response from Matt. http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

And did you check the spammy footer link? These guys are just trading on the *oh so now trendiness (vomit) of the pile of junk called blueprint.css*. It has already brought one potentially great application to its knees. Why would any one want a theme made of it? If you would like a detailed technical analysis of the 200 reasons it is a *bad thing* check out the Habari project at Google.

Not to worry. Holding one’s breath while waiting for any theme to be introduced here is bound to result in blogger death and the theme in question is IMO – walking dead. ;)
-
I just released the theme today. The link in the footer of my site isn’t spam — it’s one of my own sites. It’s a link. I’m not getting paid for it. I suppose it violates some kind of unwritten crime here, though.
Anyway, in the FAQ it says to request themes here. Just following directions.
Oh, and I’ve updated the URL in my profile, so you can stop having a conniption about that now.

Oh brother, if this breaks the TOS than so does almost everyone’s blog with an ad on it — the difference is, I’m not getting paid. The site is free of ads except that one link. There’s not even Google ads on it.
If this violates the TOS, I’m sure a moderator will delete it.
-
Everyone’s blog with an ad on it does, in fact, violate the Terms of Service, and subjects the blog to instant deletion. We see it every day.

Worpress.com blogs are non-commercial blogs. See the ToS section 2, 5th bullet – wordpress.com blogs cannot be used to drive traffic to 3rd party sites

FAQs – wordpress.com blogs cannot have blogger initiated advertising
http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/Regardless of what the FAQs states, posting here is an exercise in futility. Volunteers answering forum questions and wp.com bloggers reading these posts do not make decisions about which themes will be added. There is no voting process. Matt chooses the themes. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=15249
This thread will give you some idea of what Matt is not going to accept in terms of themes https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=10166&page=6&replies=171#post-101797
The girls gave up. Timethief did not post another “girly theme” thread. She hired a web developer to design her own theme for her wp install and moved to hosted blogging.
-
Just to be clear, there are no ads in the theme. But I understand now that this was the wrong place to post the theme, even though the FAQs said so. Sorry to offend anyone.
-
I think the FAQ is aimed more at bloggers who want to use a particular theme than designers who want to plug their own. If everyone put in a request for their kewl new theme to be added to the selection here, genuine support requests would be drowned in the flood. It would also be supremely pointless as Matt never reads these threads anyway ;)

We know that Mark reads the forum, but we also know that Mark is not Matt and therefore gets no say in theme selection ;)
-
IMO designers pushing for the adaptation of their own themes ought not to be posting to the forum. IMO they should be dealing directly with staff and management. Moreover, without mind reading abilities how do we know exactly what the relationship between Matt’s theme choices and Marks’ recommendations for theme adaptations are? Are these speculative posts on management/staff relationships and policy that do not specifically address the OP’s questions really helpful to the bloggers in question or is there some other agenda I’m not aware of here?

WP is not a democracy. No psychic powers whatever are needed to deduce that. On the other hand, if you feel this has gone too far off-topic, feel free to lock the thread.
