Theme Suggestion: White Vostok or another white one column

How about a white version of Vostok? Or another elegant one column (not sidebar), white theme that isn’t such a skinny minny like the current one column themes.

You can use Elegant Grunge, Fusion, iNove or Pilcrow (selecting their no-sidebar option).

Vostok is an especially elegant theme and it’s so cute in its petite-ness. And since there is a White Vostok version, I thought it might be a possibility.

Thanks for the suggestion for the White Vostok version — we’ve had this on our todo list for… gulp… several months now. We’ll get to it soon, hopefully.

@Panos ~ I checked out those 4 possibilities. For my purposes – mostly text – they are all too wide for the average reader to manage comfortably. Except for Elegant Grunge and that’s not my style. I really appreciate the ideas though. I’m happy with the width of Vostok (about 600 px), I just don’t like the skinnier one column themes like Day Dream and Ambiru.
@Lance That’ s terrific! Vostok is a special theme. It has a special elegance and class that’s rare to fine. The dark version is really beautiful. It will be wonderful to have a white version on WordPress.com too since I wonder how readers really receive the dark version. I hope the white version will have a custom background option. :)
The Theme Team is pumping out wonderful stuff like crazy. We all appreciate the team so much. I fully understand why it might be hard to get to everything on your to do list. So I won’t hold my breath but I will be waiting in great anticipation. Thanks for all that you do.

@alwayswellwithin ~ Hi there, Panos is right about the one column themes. I’ve come around to discover those as well, in my investigations for the perfect photo blog. Modularity Lite is indeed a great theme, but the only prob (for me anyway) is the gray background for photos. I discovered that a very light or white BG was best for my photos *and* for weak eyes…! I also would prefer to have a slightly larger text (my site will have reading material as well as the pix) but maybe photo blogs aren’t designed that way; you either blog as a writer or you blog as a camera bug, but thus far I haven’t seen the “perfect” theme that handles both genres quite as well as I could hope for. Fusion is beautiful but its text is a little bit of a challenge… Oh well. It is always interesting to drop by and find out the latest buzz, I’m always eager to learn more! ;)

Thanks for your thoughts. Vigilance does a great job with photos and text, IMO.
