    Hi there,

WordPress.COM users have code restrictions. No JavaScript, no form codes, except these https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-formhttps://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/, no tracking codes, no advertising codes, and no unsupported embeds of unsupported iframes can be used on any wordpress.COM hosted sites.

    Please read:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
allowed HTML tags list – https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#html-tags
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascript
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#flash-and-other-embeds

Additional plugins or custom theme can be installed on any WordPress.com hosted sites if one has a Business plan upgrade. Just make sure to only embed iframes from trusted sources, as iframes can be used by someone to spread malware via your site without you even knowing it.

You’ll still only be able to embed them in a post, page or text-widget, though. No WordPress.com site has FTP access, regardless of plan, so anything that requires you to edit the source code of your site won’t be possible.

    Thank you.

so, if I go premium I can use iframe from Indesign public Upload?

@nilleviking, to be able to use iframes, you would need to have the WordPress.com Business plan.

Whether you will be able to use the Indesign Publish Online, I do not know as I don’t know what sort of output comes from it. Can you post some sample output from it here in the forum and enclose it with code tags (code button above reply box) and I can give you a better idea?

I think it is a wonderful and time saving feature to post this way instead of re designing posts inside wp?

    Hi there,

I tested it out, and I was able to successfully embed your iframe snippet to view your InDesign document on a business plan site I have running. It was somewhat difficult to read, though, as I had to click to view it, and then could not easily navigate around the large page within the small iframe. Here is a screenshot of what it looked like for me.

Keep in mind as well that the iframe will look different depending on the user’s device, so you will want to test how it looks at different viewport sizes.

On a more personal note, I have worked a lot with InDesign in my previous job as an editor on both print and web publications. I found that users are able to engage more easily and effectively with web-based content if it’s directly in the HTML, rather than in iframes. What I ended up doing most times would be pulling out the plain text from my InDesign documents and then add simple HTML formatting in WordPress.

Of course, there are times when you might wish to use an iFrame for an InDesign document, for instance, when you need to demonstrate the layout of a print piece in a print design portfolio.

So whether this feature will be effective for you certainly depends on your content and needs. Good luck with your site!
