Theme twenty sixteen – read more button appears correctly but does not load content

Hello everybody,
how is it going?
I am quite new on WordPress.com and have trouble with the read more button. I started a blog and wanted to use the read more button on my blog posts (not pages). I can insert it correctly wherever I want it to go. It then appears correctly on the posts on my blog page. However when I click on it (I have tried different laptops and different browsers) the read more button does not lead to the rest of my post-text. Simply nothing happens, nothing changes on the page or in the post.
Have I done something wrong? How can I fix this?Thank you very very much for your help!

If so, I’m afraid that, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost and connected to your WordPress.com account via plugin Jetpack.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
