    Hi!

    See below:

    1.There must be something wrong with my disign -non of my widgets show up.(I did save them)

    It looks like you were able to add some widgets to the left-hand side. Are those working as you intended?

    Regarding the image widget, which currently shows an error message, you’ll need to set that up as described here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/

    2.Also I can not add anything on the right side- looks like unfinished.

    The issue here is that the widgets are set to only display on your page titled “Why I did it”:

    http://d.pr/i/14rj3

    However, that page is currently set to display full width as shown here:

    http://d.pr/i/11DJX

    Can you try setting that to default to see if that fixes the issue?

    Pages are so narrow with a lot of space left on both sides.-it it any way to make them wider-I do use a wide option already -does not work either.

    I’m working with you on that in this thread:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-make-page-wider?replies=2

    Let’s keep issues regarding content widget in that thread to avoid confusion!

    Yes it did work! Many,many thanks
    And I do try to learn CSS as you recommended – but somehow it’s not so easy – I guess old dogs new trick issue here…
    And so I tried to increase my fonts for a secondary menu on the left hand (to match primary ) – no success…
    need help again.

    Can you give this a try?

    ul#menu-new {
    font-size: 13px;
    }

    That should increase the font size of the sidebar menu!

    Thank you.It works.

    Please take a look at my site one more time.
    Is it possible to get rid of extra empty green space on the righthand side?

    I appreciate your help as always.

    It looks like staff-happychia provided the necessary CSS code to do that here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-make-page-wider?replies=7#post-2188230

    Can you give that a try? You’ll need to adjust your header image a bit as he mentioned to accommodate the wider size.

    Please help me out with these issues on my site:
    http://www.appledoesnotfall.com

    1.When I hover over ‘why I did it’ I see ‘welcome to this site’; when I hover over ‘1874-1945’ I see ‘my paternal grandma and grandpa’ — how to get rid of this hovers?
    2.In order to see all pieces of Leib, I have to move the page up all the way to the top of the menu. The same goes for each part of the Story II. Is there a way to make the dropdowns smaller so that they are viewed without moving the page?

    Thank you so much for you being a great help.

    Navigate to this page:

    https://marinameshel.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php

    From that page, expand each menu item like this:

    http://d.pr/i/11eNl

    You’ll need to edit the “Title Attribute” field.

    2.In order to see all pieces of Leib, I have to move the page up all the way to the top of the menu. The same goes for each part of the Story II. Is there a way to make the dropdowns smaller so that they are viewed without moving the page?

    I see what you’re referring to here:

    http://d.pr/i/K3oX

    Setting a CSS rule to shrink those drop-downs is a bit of a messy hack, and it would be very messy to fit them all onto a screen without require a scroll. Instead, I would recommend removing your header image or shrinking it down. That would move the menu up a bit higher on the page.

    Thank you so much,jeremeylduvall.

    Dear jeremeylduvall,
    please take a look at my site again.
    kinda empty isnt it?
    is there a way to reduce a total width of the site that I can still attach some header on a top and generally looks more compact.
    What would you suggest?

    Hi @marinameshel,

    is there a way to reduce a total width of the site that I can still attach some header on a top and generally looks more compact.

    That’s definitely possible. To achieve that though, I’m going to point you to the CSS forums here:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

    We have some CSS gurus that will be able to help you customize the width a bit better without throwing off the mobile layout!

    If you have any questions regarding the functionality of the Twenty Fourteen theme though, I’m happy to answer them here.
