Hi @mkprice71!
It looks like you have changed your theme again since this post went up :)
When you change themes, content on your site (including images that came with your last theme) aren’t removed or deleted – that way you don’t lose anything when switching themes.
There is a tool we can run to apply demo content to your site.
There are two ways we can run the tool:
1. Add the demo content and original settings for the theme (this may mean you have some extra or doubled posts/pages that need to be moved around
2. Complete reset which will delete all of your site’s content. This deletion cannot be reversed, so please make sure that’s what you want to do!). Your content would then be replaced with the theme’s demo content. If you’d like me to do either of those things, please confirm:
1. the address of the site
2. which option you’d like
3. that you are sure you want your content deleted (if you’ve chosen the second option)Also, make sure the theme you want is active on your site, since the content/settings are theme specific :)

Hi, Chad1008. Thank you for your reply. Here’s the site address: https://philosophyofmentoringpersistence.wordpress.com/ We haven’t added any content yet so if we could just get the Textbook theme to “stick” that would be great.
Thanks.

That site at is already wearing the Textbook theme. The issue is that you need to set it up.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multi user software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
Every theme has a detailed theme description page like this one is at https://wordpress.com/themes/textbook/ That’s where set up instructions for it are found. The live demo site is at https://textbookdemo.wordpress.com/
All support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/

I confess that I do not clearly comprehend what the issue is. We can edit and remove or replace any stock image on any post, page or header or background in any theme.
Go to https://philosophyofmentoringpersistence.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/featured-content/
Note what is stated below that image:
This is a featured content post. Click the Edit link to modify or delete it, or start a new post. https://wordpress.com/postGo Back and Edit Posts

Featured Images for posts and pages are 830 wide with no restrictions on height.
Custom header should be at least 1980 wide by 960 high.

What I see when I “activate” Textbook is an airplane (from the Imbalance theme I believe).
Correct – the image came from a previous theme.
When you start a new site, the theme has demo content/images included. If you immediately change to a new theme without touching the site, the next theme’s content takes over.
But… if you’ve changed something (even a small change like a widget) the content sticks, and doesn’t get replaced when you switch themes. That way you don’t activate a theme, adjust some settings, and then lose them.
I’ve reset the site to Textbook’s demo state for you, so you should be at a better starting point now :)
You can use the tips on this page to complete the remaining setup:

Correct – the image came from a previous theme.

Here we go again … sigh.
I’m ghosting your themes and featured images threads so I can provide better answers. :) -

@livelynfit
Our Staff cannot help you with that site.http://livelynfit.com/livelynfit.com is a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, hosted by Unified Layer, not by wordpress.com
Name Servers:
ns1.bluehost.com
ns2.bluehost.comThat site is not on our WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
(3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.Support for your site is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/ The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-serviceAs you are posting to the wrong support forum and as this thread has been previously resolved it is tagged for closure.

@livelynfit just to check, is this the new theme you activated?
https://livelynfit.wordpress.com/Your domain is pointed elsewhere, but you do have a site with a newer theme here. It doesn’t have much content in it yet — do you want me to add the demo content so you’ve got something to work with?
Also, do you want http://livelynfit.com/ to display whatever is at https://livelynfit.wordpress.com/ at some point? Let us know what you have in mind.
-
Also, @livelynfit, while I understand you’re also having trouble changing themes, it sounds like the main issue is that you have two sites (one here and one at Bluehost.) We can help you sort that out, but it may be best to do it in another thread since it’s unrelated to the original issue. If you’ll start your own thread and add the “modlook” tag, we can help more there.
-
That would be helpful. I wondered why I had two sites?! I am new to this.. as you can see. The site I am working on is livelynfit.com
