Hi,
This site https://somewherecallednowhere.wordpress.com/ has the Indepedent Publisher theme applied, though the image on the first post was evidently inherited from a previous theme, Twenty Sixteen I presume. You may freely delete, remove, replace, etc. that image, and any other remnants left behind by the previous theme.
I’ve heard from a staff member that WordPress.com has a tool that can make your site look like the demo of the present theme. You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention if you’d like to inquire about that tool.

Hi there,
Are you able to activate themes using any other browsers?
Which theme do you want to activate? Your site is currently using Independent Publisher.
Let me know if you have this problem in other browsers too.
Thanks!

Hi-
Thanks for the replies.I’m trying have my site appear in the Independent Publisher theme, and when I go to edit post and hit preview it appears this way, however in all other views it comes up in Twenty Sixteen. I looked at it in Chrome as well as Safari, still appears as Twenty Sixteen.
Apologies if I’m overlooking something simple, first time here.

When I visit your site, it is showing the Independent Publisher theme:

Are you seeing Twenty Sixteen when you visit the link above? Or on your Themes page here?

It would be great if you could make a screenshot of where you are seeing. Please upload it to Snaggy and send me a link.
I’ll take a look :)

Hi-
Embarrassed…seems like I haven’t got quite a solid handle on how everything runs on the site yet…I figured it out. Thanks for the quick replies :)

As I mentioned in my first post here, the first post on @dxm207’s site still had an image from Twenty Sixteen displayed on the “First Post.” This, and perhaps other remnants from the previous theme, were probably what caused the OP to think that the theme hadn’t properly changed after the switch to Independent Publisher.

Hi @timethief,
Hmmm. I’m not sure what you mean. Some themes leave various vestiges or remnants when you switch to another theme. It doesn’t require staff attention to remove or replace a remnant featured image. Do you mean that you added modlook wrt to the tool I mentioned?

I said in my first post:
You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention if you’d like to inquire about that tool.

Yes, I knew about the theme reset tool before you did. I became aware of it during a time that you were not helping provide support. Yes, I noticed your you may add … I immediately added two tags modlook and reset theme but I did not post into the thread as I was in a rush to meet a ferry.
