Theme with partial post view?
-
I am looking for a theme that only shows the beginnings of the post that you can click on a “more” button to see the rest of the post. Basically I want more than one post to show on the home page of my blog. I am currently using twentyten, contemplating going to choco because I really dig the date tags than run on the left side of the column.
My other blog http://hookedonthesea.wordpress.com/ theme motion, shows multiple posts but without the partial view effect I am looking for, but I really love the look so that one isn’t changing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create this type of environment in your blog by using More Tag. Visit support document at http://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/
Posts of ‘gallery’ type in Some themes which supports Post-Formates, like TwentyTen, Duster etc. creates ‘Continue Reading’ environment automatically. See, http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-formats/
If you’re looking for such a special theme without these two works to be done, then Intuit Type is the best.

@mbgrip
G’day to you. There are themes that do automatically display only beginnings of posts on the front page of the blog. They are Fusion, Hemingway and Inuit Types. There several ways to split content on blogs at wordpress.com. including manually inserting (1) The More Tag, (2) Next Page (Pagination), (3) Page Jumps, (4) and choosing a theme that provides Excerpts.

Note that is most themes the excerpts function is dead. See here for a breakdown > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/the-excerpt-function/For an post focused on Modularity Lite features and workarounds please see > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/06/24/modularity-lite-100th-theme/
