I currently have a blog I’ve written in Ruby/Rails up at http://leisuresuitlogic.com
1. I’m looking to move my blogging to something much simpler – that site was mostly built to learn Rails and now it’s just too much for me to maintain with my schedule
2. Can I carve out a custom page like I have that will load Unity Web Player content? Not the end of the world, I may just move to youtube and forgo all of that anyway, it’s a lot to upkeep
3. Are there themes similar to what you see there? Suggestions?

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
Read the differences here carefully and completely so you are clear on the limitations that come with WordPress.COM blogging http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The answer is no.

If you’re looking for a good place to blog, WordPress.com could be a great fit. In terms of finding a theme that suits your needs, you might like to start by looking through the free, two-column, responsive themes here:
https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/two-columns+responsive-layout/type/free/
It looks like Unity Player embeds require JavaScript, which isn’t something we allow on WordPress.com. You can learn more about the types of code you can use here. YouTube embeds are no problem.
Let us know if you have any other questions. If you’d been thinking about running the WordPress software on your own server, do take a look at the comparison timethief linked to above – it gives a good overview of the differences between hosting your own site vs. hosting here on our shared platform at WordPress.com.
