Themeforest template installation.

how do you import a themeforest template? We are currently with Visi, do we just map our current site to WordPress? Do we have to upgrade in order to do this?

I’m sorry, but themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org.

You may use any of the available themes we have under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard, and you may want to look into purchasing the Custom Design Upgrade to customize one of the themes we offer:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
You can also post suggestions for new themes on our public user forum. Please see here for details:

Thanks for your reply. I was on themeforest, and it states there are WordPress templates. I purchased one that was responsive and a WordPress template.
So, I need to have a wordpress.org account to do this?
Thanks!

Yes. You need to hire web host and set up your own WordPress.org install in order to use that theme. For clarity read > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
On WordPress.com free hosted blogs we can only use themes you find here > Appearance > Themes and no theres at all.

What is the difference between .org verses .com? We currently have the domain
intransol.com, if we map it to wordpress.org, does the end user see that its an org site?We don’t want to be an org site…
Would it just be best to go directly to GoDaddy or something? :)

It states here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ that you run a custom theme on WordPress.com if you upgrade to VIP…does that mean I can upload a Themeforest template then? Can the average person purchase the VIP program?
Note: The VIP program on WordPress.com for high-traffic and high-profile sites allows you to run custom themes, custom PHP code, ad code, and WordPress plugins.
-
Yes, you could run a custom theme if you were on our VIP platform, but it isn’t really intended or priced for your average user: http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/#hosting
-
VIP hosting starts at $ 20,000 a year and you also need to have a world class WordPress expert on your staff. WordPress.ORG is not a host – they are the keepers of the WordPress software.
-
VIP hosting actually starts at $3,750 per month ($45,000 per year). The self-hosted route with all of our VIP support (but none of the hosting) is $15,000 per year.
