  I am basically looking to develop a 2 to 3 page business web site (no blog page now) that is B/W (maybe one color) that consists of 99 percent text and one photo, of me. On top of the first page, I want to put the following words horizontally: Home, About Us, Services, Contact us. I have found a few existing WP templates that have some words horizontally on top of the page. But not the words I want. I also don’t want any of images like those shown on any of its templates. So I need to know how if I can alter existing templates on wordpress.com so I get the web site that I want.

  Yes, you can edit the text and photos on all WordPress.com themes.
