Themes

I was wondering if there is a theme which looks like the standard mobile site for a wordpress blog.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can enable a mobile theme display on a wordpress.COM blog here > Appearance > Extras
__ Display a mobile theme when this blog is viewed with a mobile browser
“Update Extras” -
All themes that are available for use on wordpress.com blogs can be viewed in the Themes Showcase where there is also a Live Demo function > http://theme.wordpress.com/

Help! I am someone who really enjoys writing and have recently discovered this avenue for getting exposure. But I am technically challenged! I want my front page to show only the first paragraph or so of a blog and then invite people to click to continue reading a particular article. I’ve tried everything I know by following the tutorial, but I can’t achieve what I want. Maybe I need a different theme for my blog.
2nd question is how do people increase their volume of traffic at their blog?
my site is (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Anyone’s help will be appreciated!

@thefrontwindow:can you give more specific about “want my front page to show only the first paragraph”?
2nd question, you can get many visitors if you promote and update your blog everyday (no sleep). Like i do. -

@samwiseman-you really haven’t given us much information about what kind of theme you wish to use other than “looks like the standard mobile site for wordpress”. What kind of features are you looking for?
@thefrontwindow, what you are looking to use is the “more” tag on your posts. This is only visible on the front page of your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
For your second question, there are dozens of tips for increasing your site traffic already available in the forums, but start here http://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/

@cahbaguskeyongan-please consider that WordPress.com is optimized to give its users the best exposure on the search engines possible.
If you are the owner of boostwebsitestraffic.wordpress.com/, I would be very careful about what you are doing, dropping the same phrase over and over with links to 3rd party websites. That is a tactic used by those 3rd party websites to increase their traffic, not yours, and may get you suspended. Just saying…

@justjennifer – looks like @cahbag is just posting here for the links judging from the number of posts and the answers given – just wondering – but one need to think of the Karma
-
@justjennifer – I was referring to the blog linked to the name – you are correct about the two link farms –
-
@justjennifer: thank you so much for your suggest jennifer, I think I have forgotten a lot of things here.

@justjennifer apologies for the lack of information. What I was trying to say was if I go onto my blog using my iphone there is an option to view it on ‘full site’ or ‘mobile site’. If I select ‘mobile site’ then it comes up with a particular theme for the blog which I really like, but I want to see if I can get it for the ‘full site’ version of my blog as well as the ‘mobile site’ version.
Hope this makes sense

Have you posted into the iphone forum? You may find an answer there as we Volunteers don’t have one for you. http://iphone.forums.wordpress.org/
If that’s not productive then contacting Staff is possible by using this link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ -

@samwiseman just a small reminder that if you are referring to a blog hosted on WordPress.com, we’re able to use one of the 110+ themes available in Dashboard>Appearance.
If you are looking for something very elemental, perhaps a clean, white theme will do the job? There are about 46 of those that fall into that category. Cheers!

@JustJennifer Thank you so much for your helpful comment and link on changing the appearance of my front page and blogs.
I enjoyed visiting your page as well. Great pictures!
I was interested in copywriting my material as you have on your front page. Exactly how do I accomplish that? -
Glad you enjoyed your visit. Not sure what you mean though? You want to have a copyright statement in the sidebar of your blog? A text widget is very handy for that.

@thefrontwindow-Here’s a Support Doc explaining about Creative Commons and how to display a license on your blog.
