Themes and paypal

  Is it possible to use a theme like Illustrator with Paypal? I’m interested in using the tiled portfolio page to showcase items available for sale that allows someone to click on the item and purchase it via Paypal. Although it doesn’t appear I can do that with Portfolio. I’m not considering a Business account because there are only few items that will supplement posts.

  Portfolio Archive – ( e.g. http://yourgroovysite.wordpress.com/portfolio/ ) page is not designed to show any widgets or links on the portfolios it displays. This page can be accessed via adding /portfolio to the end of the site address.

  However, you can add Paypal button to the single portfolio page using the instructions in this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/view-all/
  Step 4 can be added to Portfolio as well, besides pages and posts.

  On the landing page you can add a note just under the page title to guide your visitors on how to purchase.

  Thank you chaitanyamsv for the helpful information. I think I’ll look for a theme that allows links on individual photos instead. Do you know what I would search for? Do I look for a theme that allows widgets and links?

  Galleries in WordPress don’t allow links to a custom URL, but you can insert an individual image in a post (in any theme) and link it to your desired URL.

  Ok kathrynwp, thanks. So I can create a page adding individual images as single posts of the items I’d like to sell. In each post, I can add a link to the Paypal link code as outlined in the instructions chaitanyamsv sent above. So when someone clicks on the link under that photo, it should send them to the paypal site. Is that correct?

  You can add a Paypal link directly to single images.

  You can also add a PayPal button or text link below or above an image or gallery.

  Give it a try and if you get stuck at any step just let us know.
