Very strange; it looks like bog-standard Kubrick to me, with a custom header. You did not just Preview but Activated the Journalist theme? I have to double-check these things.

Appearently you have the CSS upgrade. CSS is not universal, it is theme specific. Before switching to the journalist, you will have to go to appearance > edit CSS, delete all your custom CSS from the window, make sure “add to existing…” is selected and then click “save changes.
You will then have to start the customization of the journalist from scratch.

Try again, go to your Custom CSS field, take out ALL the contents, save. That should give you the regular Journalist theme. Then you can customize that as you wish, from scratch. Stuff you wrote to adapt Kubrick won’t work on the Journalist.

Everything you added to the Custom CSS; you will have to start over. You can easily enough add the header image in once you’ve made one the right size for Journalist, etc.

…CSS is not universal, it is theme specific.
That means you cannot use CSS customization you developed for one theme with a different theme. Each author decides how they are going to do the CSS and what they are going to name things.

FYI, the Journalist themes do not have a custom header option. You will have to put the necessary code into the CSS and modify others to make room for a custom header.
