Themes Differ on Capitalization in Blogrolls?

  It seems like some themes allow capitalization in the blogroll and others don’t. It can make a difference if you are linking to a friend named male German friend name Jan Emmerling, whose blog is simply titled “JanE’s World” and a female American friend who writes at “Jane’s World.”

  Do themes really differ sometimes on this, or am I missing an option somewhere?

  You have missed nothing. That is a function of how the original theme designer coded the theme.

  I even think it’s a standard PHP call to capitalize and lowercase strings…

  More likely they’re doing it with the text-transform CSS property, which is easy to delete if you’re using the theme on your own wordpress install (which, after all, is the environment all these themes were originally designed for.)
